How much access do you have when you use a computer?

When I say this, I mean how much can you do? How strict is the Website-Blocker, what programs do they have, how much can you actually do on the computer?

Well, for me, the Website blocker our school uses is equal to poop on a stick. Most websites are unblocked until Computer Teacher A (who is the most un-technical person I've ever seen and barely knows how to use a Word Processor), being her pacifist self, goes "HEY WHAT IS THAT WHY ARE YOU SHOOTING THOSE BUBBLES" when we play some Tower Defense game.

We have generic stuff installed, everything that comes with XP (excluding the games), along with "Microtype", which is some poopty typing program that uses GWAM, Firefox, and recently I discovered that we have Netscape for some odd reason, although it doesn't have a shortcut on the desktop.

And for what we can actually do, we really can't do much. Although whatever the Administrator account can do to the rest of the network is pretty easy to get around if you know your keyboard shortcuts. Normally, we can't do poop. We can go on the Internet and use the installed programs, can't install anything, and that's really it. Although, even though "Run" isn't in the Start Menu, Windows Key + R still opens it without Windows freaking out. I can't really get much past there >_>

So yeah, how about you guys?

Basic website blocker, even though it sucks when you are trying to research the wine country of France.  :-\

It also has this thing that deletes everything that wasn't saved in a specific folder.

It blocks sites that may contain nudity.
But that's it.

We cant do anything directly (WEB blocks) but we have to find back doors to certain places. But for the computer challenged you might as well play computer with a cardboard box :P

Supposedly the Principal has a program that shows all the sites you've been on. I really don't think it's true though :x. Otherwise nothing else.

Besides the obvious web filter, there's some Novell client on it, that erases anything on it and makes the OS reload to a saved state after every logon, or reboot, I forgot which.

But I know the password that lets you acess those site.

They thought they pulled one over on us by making anything not saved to the hard drive delete itself... well surprise surprise that lasted all of 3 weeks.

Same, and some teachers have a program called SynchronEyes, which lets them basically control your computer and see what you're doing.

My computer networking class doesn't have that, but for every other computer in the district with Novell on it, it has that program. Its just only used in classes with one or two teacher comps, and 30 others for students.

I was caught playing StepMania one day and well... hehe.. I suck on a 50 inch projector screen.

I'm pretty sure ours doesn't have any restrictions, but our computer teacher is so strict that we can't go on any sites. She literally breathes down our necks.

Very thorough web blocker that blocks most things unacademic (except for foreign sites and unpopular sites), and used to block Wikipedia but it was recently unblocked

The head admin of the network constantly monitors everyone, and he can view everybody's history and get you for doing anything, even something as simple as checking your email

If a teacher reports a student, that student could have his entire computer account suspended and thus cannot use the computers for some time

You can't install anything on the computers without admin status (which makes sense)

You can't do otherwise simple things such as "Safely Remove Device" or viewing the source of webpages

There is also a filter that blocks a huge vocabulary of words if they are in the <TITLE> tag

yeah us too, but Novell Client (to the best of my knowledge) isn't the program that erases and reverts, since our school uses a program called Sub-Zero or something like that for that purpose.  I think it's merely an integrated server user system with some of those features.
