Before the Snorkel incident, no one hated Snorkel, no one thought he was a jerk, some people thought he was cool or didn't care about his existence.
Then he sold the forums, yes that was a horrible thing to do, but everyone was/is saying he's always been a jerk, or "I never liked Snorkel" and a bunch of other bull.
I wonder why so many reacted this way.
