Am saving up for a laptop.

Should have...

Good gaming capabilities
Be a windows

...That's about it.

Price range: Between $500-$1000

Kilroy

Hold on. I'll find one.

Do you want one with XP or Vista? I know the XP will be used, obviously, but does it matter to you?

I heard the bugs w/ vista were sorted out?

If that is true, then the Vista.

Vista can easily be made into an XP clone. It's extremely easy to turn off the "dude u want this program or not" off.  Vista is pretty much like XP, and after a month, you really don't notice the difference. If Vista whines about "LOL NOT COMPATIBLE", it's lying.

Generally, you made our lives easier, but yours more exspensive :P

Are you basically saying Vista isn't worth the cost?

Ehh, yeah. It's a prettier and what Microsoft considers "safer" XP. I'm not saying it's a waste of money, but there's really no use for it. Plus, you're probably only going to find crappy laptops that have XP.

I'm going to look for Gateway Laptops, seeing as my 9 year old Gateway Desktop can run any valve game perfectly.

If you get a laptop that's optimized for gaming, you'll want to avoid buying pre-made factory computers.

If you can't, try to get something that doesn't have an Intel Extreme Graphics, Intel extreme graphics 2, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 and 950, ATI Radeon 200, or Nvidia Geforce 6150 graphics card.

Terrible for gaming.

"Ultimate" (1099.99)

Um. I'd go with the second one. No one needs intercourse ing three gigs of RAM >_>;

Oh, you're going to need to go through a deal for each for the price I gave you. The first two is 200$ off (Like, 200$ more than what I gave you) and the third is 300$ off.

Best one is the Ultimate.
Processor FSB makes a big diff. Also, it's faster and has the best graphics of the three.
also, 3GB of RAM is good. And it's got a hella better processor. (faster FSB and more L2, plus twice the speed.)

I'd go for that if you have the money

It would be noticeable, but really, unless you're super crazy about graphics, then I'd say go for the enhanced. Unless you want to play something like Crysis.
