Why does this keep happening to me?

Okay, actually went out with some friends (co-workers actually, but they're friends none the less) to celebrate my manager's birthday (26, and joining the fire department in July...) and one of my friends brings his sister along (we went to Waffle House cuz it was the only thing opening). She's nice, kinda cute and shy. The table I'm at is me, her, her bro (my co-worker) and my manager. Good evening and such. Afterwords I ask if I could get to know her better (a.k.a. asking her out).
"Oh, well, I already have a boyfriend" - she says

Basically, every girl I try asking out already have boyfriends....this is getting irritating
why does this keep happening? X_X;; (go ahead and laugh)

Im not laughing. Anyone who has relationship problems is a friend of mine.

I recently asked a girl who I really love out, we had been together before however sombody broke up with her without me knowing. After a while of akward silence between us I told her the truth about what happened. I think my words were

Since our relationship got so screwed up because of whoever broke up with you, would you like to try going out with me again?

No I dont really want a relationship right now. Was her reply

First one is the hardest...since it's usually a "no".
After that first one you really are okay if she says no, you just still want the yes...
I'm 0 for 5 so far...and it's getting irritating

More Advice: It's always going to be awkward....regarldess of the situation...
One of the girls I asked out I've known since middle school and we got along great the past few months so I knew her and it was STILL really awkward.

Most girls hate that prick in HSM...at least most girls I know anyway X_X;;
