Sonic cant get a break

this is a article on yahoo this morning on 10 worst video game sequels.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The blue blur's been spiraling downward for so long, it's getting hard to believe that Sonic once legitimately challenged Mario to the mascot throne. Singling out just one of his post-Genesis flops isn't easy (Sonic Riders? Sonic Shuffle?), but we're going with the most recent foray on the 360 and PS3 because we actually had high hopes going in. A bad camera, glitchy visuals and insufferably bland gameplay shattered those pretty quickly, slamming yet another nail into this platforming pariah's coffin.
Thoughts anyone?

Well, they are currently working on Sonic Unleashed, a 2.5D game similar to the old-school Sonic games and the Sonic games on DS and PSP, and it will be made for Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, and Wii. It is said to bring Sonic back to his old roots (like what Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush did). It looks good so far, but I sure hope they don't rush it like they did with Sonic '06.

Even though I love Sonic, I think they should maybe give him a break, and focus on remaking/making sequels to some old Sega games for a while.

The more recent Sonic games suck. As long as Sonic Unleashed keeps the promise to bring back old school gameplay...nope, the series will still suck, just slightly less so.

Snake. Played mgs and their great. They had ne for gamecube and gba so theirs a good chance nintendo gets another metal gear

Well, i'ts not like Sonic is on the verge of death like SOME franchises are (looking at YOU Crash Bandicoot). But if SEGA somehow intercourse s up Sonic Unleashed they're best served selling the franchise to Nintendo. Dreamcast/EarlyCube/PS2 era I could give them a pass since htey were still figiuring things out but at this point they haven't a clue on what to do

This ones obvious, its Master Cheif. He's getting unbelievably popular, and he's for a competing system. he's pretty much Microsoft's Mascot by now.

Cheif can't be Mario's rival since htey're completely different genres. That'd be like saying Pokemon is Snake's rival...they're completely different. It has to be hte same dmeographic or genre to be "rivals" like how Mario and Sonic were. Same market, same type of game. I'd have to say the closest one is Rachet series.
