i think according to the rumors, bungie left because they didn't want to do another halo. but also, with regard to the halo ds thing, most likely the tech demo was made by another developer, and was pitched to Bungie but it was rejected for whatever reason(s).

too bad. It probably would have been a awesome game. But with MPH in the mix, I bet Nintendo didn't want Halo outselling one of its big titles.
