I just got a PS2 and 13 games for 40 bucks.
I was at gamestop and this kid was selling it all and I gave him 5 dollars more, and he sold it to me instead of gamestop.
The employee asked me to leave afterward though, he looked angry.
I just need a controller, all i've got is a PS1 controller

To make this relevent, what games should I get now?

Now you have to live with the guilt that you robbed a child of his PS2 and games. The pros outweigh the cons though.

You should have asked him for Battletoads afterwards. GTA Vice City, nice. My PS2 isn't reading the disc, and I thought the disc was the problem, but it was the PS2.

I kinda want a PS2, but don't feel like getting one since I'd probably only buy a few games for it.

They test out the consoles with the controller you bring before taking them. He wouldn't have been able to trade it in.
