I personally love Paper Mario 1.

It's one of my all time favourite games, and I love it.

The first one, definitely. I always enjoyed RPGs. I almost refused to be SPM because of the new control setup. ALMOST.

SkyMyl

C-c-c-c-c-combo Breaker!

I choose #2. That game, in my opinion, improved on just about all the original had, with a darker storyline. So...yeah.

Gwen Khan

Thousand year door is better then the first one, but only by a tiny bit

I picked TTYD as it's the only one I've played.

Why did they change it? The first was the best then the second but why make it like mario bros?
...Friend codes were probably implemented by the same people who wanted tripping in Brawl...
...It's quite obvious...

Qsmash

I loved the first Paper Mario game. I think that was one of my first RPG games.

Probably to make it easier for the casual crowd.

Apparently, they can't handle RPG's.  :|

They changed it because they wanted to see if they could make a platformer with RPG qualities. Oh, and TTYD is better by a little bit.
Betrayal, even unwilling, will sometimes be forgiven, but oftentimes the friendship will never heal, and the lost trust will never be regained.

They kind of made it wrong...and doesnt mario have enough platoformer games? Classic RPG wouldnt be bad again...
