So earlier today, my dad walked in and dropped a laptop off at my desk. But not just any laptop, an XO OLPC.

The little laptop that no one has. So what's so important about the XO, you ask? Well, they're given away to children in foreign countries.

So show me pictures of it, Rio. Why certainly, dear user.

This here is the actual machine. It's not meant to be a serious computer, based on the handle and rather simple design.

This is the computer compared to my 19 inch monitor. It's really small, screen can become difficult to read text on.

It comes with a recording program, essentially a webcam for videos and pictures. Here's sexy me covering up my face with the camera.

It also has its little own version of Notepad, Word, Openoffice, or whatever you use for typing.

Well looky here, a manual.

Ooh! Pictures with words! Let's read them.

If you drop your laptop, it will crack. No doubt about it.

Don't you dare burn those batteries.

Because I can find a power outlet outside, right?

Oh, it seems I can. Sorry for doubting you, XO manual.

hurr hurr how i turn on laptop

Yay, Linux!

Ooh, look! Internet!

How sad.

Hey, that laptop was meant to be given to villages in 3rd world countries.

I still want one, though.

Oh, and those warnings are valid because it's a CHILDREN'S LAPTOP.

It was, my dad explained something about a friend of his' wife got one since she bought one for a child in a 3rd world country.

He wanted me to test it out, see if everything worked.

It should have a crank and a solar panel somewhere on the laptop.

For use in villages that have no electricity.

He did say that it was solar powered, but I haven't seen anything that resembles a crank or a solar panel.

I have no idea, probably.

My dad just came here, called me over, and showed me the laptop.

Once we get the Internet to work on it, I'm going to stop using it.
