A shadow...?

I agree with Shorti.

Shadow, because they're all a grayish black, but throughout the day it changes size, and the shadow varies from person to person. It's always under you, but goes away when the sun does. Again, it's there in the sun, but when there is no sun, there is no shadow, and the last line says that shadows do nothing, and they feel nothing because they are nothing.
