I've downloaded/bought several bands' (Weird Al, Beatles, Daft Punk, Keane) discographies, and I still feel as if I should get more music.

Suggestions?

Metallica, I can tell you almost everything about them.
They are an extermely good band and a new album is coming out in September. (9th studio album).
I'll stop myself right about there, I tend to overwhelm.

Weezer. Red Album. Get.

It might help to know if Rio is into metal/thrash, because I really have no idea if he is.

But yes, Metallica is amazing.

Not really. I'm more into alternative rock or house music.

If you're going to recommend Coldplay, don't. They suck.

hmmm...house...why does only Nysse & Hinton come to mind atm?  And they only have one popular song, "Silver Water."

Attention Boston-fags: their entire discography is not worth owning. Only their debut album and maybe their second are worth it. Everything afterward mostly sucks.

Pink Floyd?

Seconded.

Also, David Bowie.

I'll just list random artists and songs that you should listen to by them. Since you're a Daft Punk tool, I'll try to stay in your ballpark of music.

Amon Tobin (Searchers, Bloodstone, El Cargo, Untitled)
Pink Floyd (Echoes, Welcome to the Machine)
Moby (Alice, Porcelain, Whispering Wind)
Pendulum (Another Planet, Propane Nightmares)
Aphex Twin (Mt. Saint Michel Mix+St. Michaels Mount)
Prodigy (Breathe, Voodoo People (Pendulum Mix))
Chemical Brothers (Star Guitar, Leave Home)
Crystal Method (Name of the Game)
Ratatat (Wildcat)
Autechre (Bcdtmx, Gantz Graf)
Meat Beat Manifesto (Cancer, Radio Babylon, Asbestos Lead Asbestos, Helter Skelter)
Infected Mushroom (the whole album IM the Supervisor is a real treat)

That should keep you occupied.

EDIT: And how could I forget this one. Listen to Angel by Massive Attack. It makes you want to write a psychological thriller just so you can make this song trigger the plot twist at the end.

The whole album Hold Your Colour is worth the money. And most of their EPs are good, as well.

That one's listed under Prodigy. Oh, and if you're looking for good mixes, the Nightlife series (by Andy C) is very good (personally, I like the first and second more than anything, but I've yet to hear the fourth). DJ Fresh (Bass Invaderz) and Dieselboy (Substance D, The Dungeonmaster's Guide, The Human Resource, and Project Human) also have some very good, fast-paced mixes available.

It all depends on your style. And by style, I mean tempo. Most of the albums/songs I've listed are all in the realm of drum 'n' bass and IDM.
