Something wrong with GIMP...

It's just all around intercourse ed.
Certain things won't work, such as i'll make a new image. I'll edit the width, but then it won't let me edit the height. And then when i open the Layers dialog, and i right click on  a layer to do something, nothing happens. And when i try to move a layer or a selection it won't work either.

Really annoying when i'm trying to make a sig.  :-X

Hmm... I think something weird started happening for me once, and just restarting it fixed it. But if that doesn't work, re-installing it should. And yeah, go for gimp.org. =P

Actually, it's not to hard to make signatures like that. I make heavy use of C4D's for my sigs, and displace filters. And i'll generally use a random picture with a nice look for good effect, such as seaweed like this

Anyway, i fixed the problem by reinstalling it.
