Really? That must be why their E3 2007 conference was basically about how awesome the Wii did.

Horah for acting hypocritical.

They're probably just trying to make themselves look like a better company to other gamers or something like that.

3 of my friends smoke weed. Why? Well I asked one time, and this is what they said: "Because I can blow out smoke and it makes me feel like a intercourse ing dragon"

I lol'd.

Nintendo's been riding on luck and fanboys for a long time now. Casual gaming brought them up a bit, but they're going to come down sooner or later, more than likely sooner -_-

Luck and Fanboys? I think you need to put a sock in it an admit Nintendo Struct Gold here. Nintendo Wiis are STILL selling out world wide and in extremely high demand. PS3 is sitting on the shelf and 360 can be found in your local Shop N Save. Point Being? Nintendo's got a hit, like it or not.

Correction. Nintendo made a hit for old grannies. They are also riding along on luck, fanboys, and grannies.

They were riding on fanboys for six years straight, and you see how that affected them.

The success of the Wii is worldwide, that's why the Wii sold more units in June than the PS3 despite the launch of Metal Gear Solid 4.

I wish they would at least support the DS more. Now THERE's a system that appeals to everyone.

The DS is getting FFVI and Castlevania: order of Ecclesia. That's enough to help it appeal to the hardcore audience for a fair amount of time.

While it's true retirement homes are actually purchasing Wii's, it doesn't matter who is buying the Wii whether it's parents for the 8 year old, the teens, young adults, or grannies at 80. The Wii is a Smash hit with virtually every age and has games of all categories. Sure, the selection isn't VAST,b ut they have a little of everything. If the Wii is a good way for Older people to enjoy life and do bowling because they can't lift an 8 pound ball, fine. It still counts.

And if you didn't notice, Cruise Lines are actually purchasing Wiis for their ships for guests to use and play. If I'm not mistaken, Norwegian Cruise Line has a deal with Nintendo to feature the Wii on ALL of their ships. Of course fan boys are buying the Wii, but so are non-fanboys and people who find it interesting to play video games in a whole new way.

So as I said, whether you want to admit it or not, the fact remains that Wii is outselling the other consoles and flying off shelves faster thant hey are being restocked. I've even got a little "business" of mien called the "Wii Locator" where people hire me to track down a Wii for them. I've purchased a total of 4 Wiis already.

To claim that the Wii is NOTHING but Fanboys and luck is just plain stupidity and ignorance. Say it's Grannies, say it's fanboys, say it's luck, say it's little kids, say it's smash bros, say it's teens, say it's young adults, say it's hardcore gamers, say it's casual gamers, say it's FPS, Strategy, Mario, Puzzle, Zelda, Multiplayer, and so much more. The Wii is EVERYTHING. NOT just fanboys and luck.

Casual gaming isn't really the thing with Wii. You are a little bit more active.....

I believe them. Nintendo hasnt shown me anything i dont want to see. The casual games are great! My whole family likes games now, and they are more addicting than poking a dead midget with a stick.

The Wii still has hardcore games, but Nintendo is doing what they promised: provide games that will even get grandma to join in! I salute you Nintendo! :)

And Im starting to wonder why people come here because they are fans of Nintendo to only complain about it... :(

I like Nintendo, they've just done a few things in the past few years that alienates their fanbase.

Not releasing any of the MOTHER games outside Japan.
Delaying the new console Kirby game so much that people think it's canceled.
Releasing so little info on Project H.A.M.M.E.R that it was basically canceled until the developer said they were making it.
Not being able to keep up with demand of Wii, 18 months after it came out.
Neglecting the Pilotwings/Wave Race franchises, despite the fact that they are PERFECT for Wii.
No voice or even text chat in an online game made in 2008?!?
Saying that only geeks and otakus need more memory space.

That said, Nintendo does have their good moments.

These are only for fans of those games. Nintendo is doing a great job

I still don't frankly care for Text/Voice Chat in a game. Sure it's a nice feature to have, but that's not a good reason to knock a game/system/company. Ask me, Text/Voice Chat in a game is over-rated.

And Nintendo is keeping up with demand as best they can. No company could predict the immense popularity that the Wii has gotten. It's like the greatest thing since Sliced Bread and Beaver Fever. Not even Microsoft would be able to keep up with a demand of this nature. Besides, it gives people like me a chance to make some easy money by creating a "Wii Locator Service".

As for neglecting franchises, each and every company does that now and then. When was the last time you saw Earthworm Jim? What about Toe Jam and Earl? There are plenty of franchises that have been neglected over the years that no one remembers. As for keeping things in Japan. Well, duh, It's Japan. Japan gets 1st dibs on basically everything, they are often considered an even mroe important market than the US. It's often considered if it fails in Japan, it will fail in America. How true that is exactly, I haven't a clue.

Finally:

THAT... is the single GREATEST statement I have EVER read in my entire history with FCD. I take my hat of to you, sir.
