The obvious Method.

Step 1: Appear in room with cake on other side.



Step 2: Acquire Spoon.



Step 3: Dig long tunnel, turn black, and go through.



Step 4: Look at cake, then enjoy.

That looks like it would take a long time. D:
Its not as exciting as climbing though the spikes with limited time.

Not really, it's a turbo-spoon. Made for eating multiple bowls of cereal at once, but here it works well too.
