Am i going to fail?

Ok so i got this projects for Spanish class. 1st year Spanish so its going to be something easy i just need to write 2 sentences in Spanish about a famous person that speaks Spanish. So i chose Carlos Mencia :) All i had to write is 
Mii llamo Carlos Mencia
Soy de Mexico.
But the thing is am going to fail for choosing Carlos xD I mean no one thought of him :) i think its going to be funny don't you ?

Therefore, it would be "Es de Mexico".

Your Spanish teacher is both going easy on you and misguiding you a bit. And just because your teacher pronounced it "Mii", it's not. It's "me". [Usually pronounced more "May"] But, are you Carlos Mencia from Mexico? No.

Also, Carlos Mencia is from Honduras, not Mexico. [Just learned that today - he was on the news]

His mother is mexican. he was born in honduras but his mom was mexicain and i know that if one of your parents is from a country and where born some where els your officily from the country your parents are from just like me. I was born in israel but was canadian >_>
