So, the PS2 version of Sonic Heroes is currently on sale at my local Best Buy for $15.

I've never really played this game in depth, would you say that it's worth it?

For $15? Hell yes.
Well, it looks like I will have to decide between this and Order Up!....

They said the PS2 version lacked more things than the GC and Xbox version.

Nayrman

For fifteen bucks I suppose...

Lotos

I enjoyed Sonic Heroes, but I'd go for the GC one if possible.  IF is the key word.  Buy it.

Triforceman22

I played the PS2 version when my friend brought it over 3 years ago, and I noticed the controls were sort of off, like Shadow the Hedgehog's were. It's also possible I just sucked; it was a pinball level.

Is the GC version any easier to control? What does it have that PS2 lacks?

The Game Boy Pocket.
Put it in your back pocket.
Sit down and it breaks.

Yeah, they say that the GCN version is easier to control.

I might have to find that, it probably is even cheaper.

The pinball level was terrible, even on the GCN.

The other characters would fall off the course (making them irretrievable until the end of the level) even if you were making it fine.

So other than the occasional crappy level, the game itself was what percentage of fun as Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, in your opinion?

Were the controls at least better than Shadow the Hedgehog?

Better than Shadow, but no where near as good as SA2. Lots of redundancy and not enough running fast in a great deal of levels.
If SA2 is an 8/10 (in my book), Heroes is 5/10

Huh. I guess if it's better than Shadow, then it's probably worth a play. I don't remember the game being phenomenal but I haven't played any new Sonic games in a while, so I'll see if I can find it anywhere.

Just get the DS games...IMO skip every console game after SA2 unless you like Secret Rings play style.
