Google Chrome: Firefox Killer?

Not likely.

So I downloaded Google's new "web browser", and tried it out for a bit, and honestly the thing seems to have more web than it has browser.

Well the web browser seems like a watered down version of Firefox, no add-ons, no bookmarks, and no progress bar down at the bottom. The browser looks very nice, nicer than Firefox, however looks are only part of the battle. Apparently the reason why it doesn't keep bookmarks is because, once you visit a site, it is stored int he memory, want to go to the site again? well start typing forums. and the browser will start suggesting sites you have been to that start with project.The web browser feels life Firefox, however this is a bad thing. When I download a new web browser I want new features, Chrome does not offer this, in fact from what I can tell, it offers less features. One major problem I have with Chrome, is that I have my task bar set up to hide itself when not in use, now in Firefox if I need to get to my task bar I just move my mouse over the very bottom of the screen, However, Chrome does not let me access my task bar while I'm surfing the web.

Chrome feels pretty much like a polished up version of IE5, with Tabs.

Give it a try if you have some time, you might like it.

Thank you Google, I will stick with Firefox for now.

Well it's still in beta, so you don't expect it to be a full featured browser on its first day do you?



And personally I'm fine with Safari.

I've been hoping for a Google browser for quite some time...they're probably going to do more than that with it.

Posting from Chrome now. Mixed feelings. I like the integrated search bar in the url field. But no Ad Block Plus = no sale. It's okay, just not firefox.

I'm using and I like a lot of the ideas such as each tab being a separate process and...well there is a whole bunch of poop about it

I don't expect it to be perfect for its first day, however I do expect it to be better than IE7.

Probably recognizes it as Chrome, because Chrome isn't in the database.

It should say Unknown, though.

From what I can tell it's a little faster than Firefox 3. It's an ok browser but I think I'll stick with FireFox. I just like my ad-on's but since chrome is open source maybe people will start making ad-on's once the final version comes out. I have high hop's for the final version but it don't fit my need's quit as good as Firefox 3 right now.

NoScript and AdBlock are the only ones I truly "need".
