Well, how close is it going to get to your area? That's a big factor of it X_X;;

I remember a hurricane came near me and my school DIDN'T cancel school (they're a bunch of cheap bastards who don't give a intercourse about student's or their safety), and I swear to god half the parents/students barely made it to school (with half hte power out) while the rest said intercourse it and stayed home.

What category is it predicted to be when it makes landfall?
Category 1 or 2 hurricanes shouldn't really destroy homes...

It's supposed to be a Category 4 when it hits the Texas coast. Then it makes a sharp turn east and hits Dallas. Yay.

Well since I'm near Chicago all we get are tornadoes (which rarely even hit where I'm at), blizzards, and below zero temps (school may or may not close depending on when it snows, and when the snow plows get on the street). I just hope Ike doesn't make so much of a mess...
