It represents open-mindedness.  Seeing things from a new perspective, not being narrow minded and sticking to what you're used to.  It supports innovation, trying to think of new things... it supports tolerance, trying to see from another's eyes.  It is art.

The same could be said about any art form. But some of us aren't such boring sticks in the mud and can appreciate art for what it is rather than applying such ridiculous factors as how much effort it requires or cost or bullpoop like that.

This is the 21st century. Tolerance is spreading, but apparently it hasn't reached you. Get with it.
