Well, E for All is screwed.

Nintendo is not attending, probably the the only reason people went to the first E for All. I don't think Microsoft is going either, and Sony had all of their big stuff at TGS, so I can't see E For All having much of a show.

This literally leaves Nintendo not attending ANY conference for the rest of the year and sometime into 2009 unless they make their own.

I think Nintnedo didn't want to embarrass themselves again because they have nothing. Still, this makes E for All pretty much worthless. The only reason ppl went to last years one is because of Brawl. There goes another conference down the crapshoot.
So, Nintendo only attends GDC now huh? Nintnedo, you can't advertise your products unless you actually let people PLAY it first X_X;;

Nintendo just likes to send preview copies to smaller blog-style Nintendo sites like GoNintendo.

It's cheaper, and it gets the message out without spending too much.

Realistically, hosting your own event is a much better idea. Everything is on your terms, it is just so much the better. I anticipate Nintendo will have one in the coming months, what will be mentioned, though, I have no clue.

Wii Shuffle Board? Zelda and Fire Emblem have a crappy spinoff? Pokemon Playground games?

Well, since Nintendo has nothing planned the rest of the year I doubt we'll know anytime soon.

They usually have their own Media Summit twice a year, and their Fall one is usually in late September.

I presume there will be heavy emphasis on the things mentioned at E3, with glimpses of new content, Nayr. Frankly, they don't need to announce a lot, some details on Kirby Wii, a new Pikmin, anything, and most people will be satisfied. Only ridiculously  overbearing individuals wouldn't be satisfied. Throw that in with some Pokemon Platinum, AC:CC, Wii Sports 2 (and Motion + ) and there isn't reason to rejoice.

I know they're not going to announce anything big. If they were they would've done so already...
Like you said, I'd be happy to get ANYTHING about a game I'd be interested in at this point. But like usual, Nintendo isn't talking.
Heaven forbid they should give information when there isn't a conference going on... X_X;;

They're in position where they call the shots; the fans have proven they'll stick by Nintendo in times of neglect (I'm looking at you, Gamecube.)

So, they'll wait until they have some good ammunition, and they'll use it to their fullest. I also imagine with games like No More Heroes being genuine successes over here, and Mad World coming out, that Nintendo will have a more "mature" title in the works, so, there is some hope. Furthermore, the DS and Wii are still dominating, WW and VC are holding up, and they hardly have any announcements that are major. It is inevitable that one big thing will be happening for each (VC might not, with SMRPG being out, now, though).

Really, Nintendo will give us what we want, it is merely a matter of when.

Tupin

Yeah, Nintendo has a future for its fans.

E For All, however, probably doesn't.
