This is still a rumor, but Nintendo could be making the next Wii, titled the "Wii HD."
Rumored to have:

• Backwards compatibility
• Digital software distibution
• Local storage such as a Hard Drive or flash memory capacity
• High Definition visual

this Wii that has been rumored is the core gamer Wii

Goddarnit. I'm going to be broke if they keep coming out with all this new stuff >_>  I've already been meaning to get Guitar Hero: World Tour, Rock Band 2, more Wii Motes, a Zune, and a ton of new games. Then they announce they are coming out with a new DS and Wii? (Sorta :P)

Unless Nintendo finds a way to blow me out of the water with the next system and provide actual promise in some of their games, I have a feeling the Wii will be my last Nintendo system for a while.  Even the DSi seems lackluster to me.

The Wii is fine, I don't see why you all complain so much about it.
