Top 5 Book Franchises

What are your top 5 favorite book franchises?
If you don't have 5 favorites, then just list however many you have.

Here are mine:
1. Harry Potter series - J.K. Rowling (No series has been able to capture me like Harry Potter has)
2. Alex Rider series - Anthony Horowitz (Just a great action series)
2. Inheritance Cycle - Christopher Paolini (I'm currently reading Eragon and I love it.)
4. A Series of Unfortunate Events - Lemony Snicket (I forgot his real name. >_>)
5. The Power of Five series - Anthony Horowitz (These aren't as good as the first four, but I still like the series)

I know it may seem foolish to put a series on the list, of which I haven't even finished the first book, but so far I think it's a great book.

With the time commitment school and other stuff is becoming, I don't have much time to just read for fun, but the one series I'm at least trying to read is the Ender's Game Trilogy; it's pretty good sci-fi that's not TOO complex. Check it out.

I'm also reading Catch 22 (cuz I like the band >.>). Unfortunate Events, I'm also on the last book and am slowly getting through it.

I didn't read one book for fun all of last year.

This year, I've made it a goal of mine to read whenever I had the time.

2. Pendragon (the last book comes out Marchish! :O)
3. Alastair Reynolds' Revalation Space (or whatever you'd call the series of books)
4. James Rollins' adventure novels (no series name)
5. Harry Pottah (didn't like the first few, loved 4 5 6 7)

2. The Commonwealth Saga - Peter F. Hamilton (best serious sci-fi books I've ever read, such depth @.@)

3. The Tripod Trilogy - John Christopher, Tim Hildebrandt (I loved these so much...like War of the Worlds if the Martians knew what they were doing)

They are regarded as the best 5-part trilogy of absurdist sci-fi humor.

Douglas Adams had and still has a huge cult following (he died in 2001).


They are a must read.  Definitely.
