Sakurai mentioned that Nintendo's new series aren't exactly made for Smash:

-Brain Age
-Pikmin
-Big Brain Academy
-Animal Crossing
-Odama
-Elite Beat Agents
-Professor Layton
-Wii Series
-Captain Rainbow (And other Skip Properties)
-etc

They've been pumping out a lot of new series, of varying degrees, and I've got to say, I like them all. Sure, the characters aren't made for a fighting, but they're all unique. There is the casual drive, yes, but the games themselves are still quality.

So, do you still like Nintendo's series?

And yes, I'd still like to see new franchises being made in a traditional sense.

Indigo

It seems kind of obvious these characters would make great assist trophies, but as fighters, they would fail :P Olimar can fight though :O Suckishly, but meh....

I really like the new franchises to a point, but Brain Age can loose its charm after a while. Pikmin is a great game to teach math, and have over all, great fun.

I only touched on some properties, though, for instance, one could take Drill Dozer. The list goes on. And saying Pikmin is good for teaching math...well....no.

Of those, I've only ever really enjoyed AC, Pikmin and EBA.  The rest don't particularly interest me.

What's Odama?
A pinball game, but from the old era of conquest timeline.

Out of those, I've only played Animal Crossing and Pikmin. The rest don't really look interesting.

Professor Layton and EBA are both fantastic DS properties, the Wii series everyone has played, and sKIP titles (like Chibi) are becoming masterpieces (the art style WiiWare games). So, yeah.
