I just had a chat with one of my friends in Cali, and he is under the impression that the DSi will full out replace the DSLite.

With that, he thinks that there are going to be a ton of exclusive properties; a for instance would be the next generation of Pokemon only playable on the DSi.

If that were the case, I'd be mad, clearly, as I have no plans of getting the DSi.

So, do you think there are going to be a ton of DSi exclusives, or are you more like me, believing (and hoping) that the DSi will just expand on the current repertoire?

SkyMyl

There better not be exclusives on the DSi. The instant a New Zelda game gets released for it, my wallet will be crying.

Nintendo better create a firmware update for the DS Lite or something.

Otherwise, all the stuff in the DSi Store will be pointless.

You know what, this might suffer the 32X syndrome in America. Americans know that a completely new system will be out within a year or two at the latest, so they'll stick with the DS Lite.

Tuppy frightens me with his knowledge of legacy technology.

Nayrman

No, Nintendo wouldn't do that because it would really piss everyone off.

I agree with the 32X comparison, and it's how I'm going to go about it. Let's see, the DS was released in 2004 and the average lifespan for a handheld is 4-5 years. We know Nintendo has a successor in full in the works (at least to some extent, they always do). I'd rather just wait for the real DS2 or whatever it'll be.

In Japan, Pokemon Platinum came out before the DSi. Unless NOA really messes with things, it won't be an exclusive DSi title.
