Now that you said that, I saw authentic Japanese swords at a gun show I went to recently.  They cost over $1,000 for some of them, and were very sharp looking.  In fact, you had to request permission to handle them because they were THAT sharp.  I bet someone could cut someone's arm clean off with one...
