Let's say that you had to send in your laptop to Dell.

And let's say that you had downloaded some torrents onto the laptop.

would they be able to call foul on this?  Especially because it's canada, and we don't have laws governing downloads?

My laptop is majorly on the fritz, caused by what I think is heating issues, which would conversely be caused by a defective fan.

My Laptop's primary Issues are:
-Overheating (regularly 80 degrees celcius and up)
-A Fan which sometimes shuts off without my telling it to
-A possibly faulty wireless card, leading to issues playing online games
-A possibly faulty graphics card, leading to issues playing games period
-Random BSOD due to playing Source games (my graphics card should kick the asses of all games I play)
-Keys that will randomly work, then not work for one key press (1 occurrence)
-Certain keys not working at all, fixed with reset (1 occurrence)
-webcam not working
-My computer closes games cleanly by itself without complaining that hl2.exe has stopped working (which always happens when I close source games, and happens in all computers with Vista).  This happens twice, and the third time my computer gives me a BSOD.

The overheating could, probably, cause all of this.

so, I'm wondering.

Is Dell able to check my poop and call me on downloading poop "illegally"?

Just to be safe, can't you move all those torrent files to an external drive or another computer?
When you send something into Dell, there's a good chance they'll reformat its drive or just junk your old computer and give you a new one of the same model.

I'd move all your files off the computer before sending it in regardless. No need to ask; just do it.

Probably just another hard drive. If you can find a hosting site go ahead, but they can easily lose your data.

There's sites that will let you do that sort of thing. Either that or just buy a cheap external hard drive.
Try http://www.orbitfiles.com/.

Friendly Hostile

Get an external.  It's a good investment regardless.

This happens to me normally. The game closes, and thats that. And then I just and go run the game again. I just accept it when things like this happens. It seems to be a normal thing in Windows.

oh, i forgot to mention

I had none of these problems on my 3 year-old desktop.  it never complained about HL2.exe, and it was running XP.

his computer has heating issues, his keys intercourse  up sometimes, his computer closes games automatically without giving a reason (message box), BSOD--Blue Screen Of Death, his internal fan shuts off without permission, his wireless and graphics chip have faults (problems), and his webcam doesnt work. its like his laptop has cancer or something. comprende'?
