This is my Wii buy guide. The link includes images, etc. and it is the original release, this is just a quick copy and paste. I'd like to know where you would place each game, etc.

In part 2 of 3, I'm highlighting the best games out on Nintendo consoles since the past holiday season, along with a few others, we take a look at the Wii lineup. Finally the Wii gets Third Party support, and while this year isn't too shabby for the Wii owners, but it could be better. Next year looks stellar, but alas, this is now. Within this list Sonic and Mario team up and beat up, Simon smacks Dracula, and the Wii goes to war. Enjoy!

12. Sonic Unleashed

Weighing in at 12th is Sonic Unleashed. The latest installment of the hedgehog has him transforming into a werehog at night, slowing him down, and powering him up. For a Sonic title after Sega's heyday, it's not too shabby...well, the actual hedgehog levels. Most gamers will enjoy this title, but with a multi-console release, your money may very well be better spent on one of the other consoles. For those of you stuck with the Wii, and at a lack for genuinely good Sonic titles, this will not disappoint...it's just not amazing.

11. Medal of Honor: Heroes 2

Although it was available last holiday season, this is the best FPS on Wii. Really. The storyline is one of those overused WWII ones, but it's not bad. Outside of that, you will find appeasing graphics and sound. The meat and potatoes, though, lies in the control and wifi. MoH: H2 runs extremely smoothly, and the controls feel nature on Wii. Add that with a 32 person online experience, thankfully not on Ninty's servers, and you'll have a blast.

10. Okami Wii

A simply breathtaking title, in terms of visuals, Okami focuses on a goddess in a wolf's body. An instant hit on the PS2, the Wii port sold for cheap, and came with Wii Motion controls for the artistic element of the game. The only thing holding up this decent title with an amazing art style is the fact it was a port. Outside of that, it is an amazing title that gamers of all walks should enjoy.

9. Boom Blox

Spielberg is a well known director, in fact, he's made a lot of money doing so. But that is the film world, not the gaming world. Scratch that, because with Boom Blox, Spielberg may very well take over the world. The formula is simple; take Jenga, make the pieces have the look of animals, give them an ounce of cocaine, and put it on Wii. Next thing you know you have a deeply satisfying experience for pretty much everyone. While it is a puzzle game, it's a darn good one, and it is highly addictive, too. You won't put Boom Blox down.

8. Facebreaker KO Party

KO Party is one of three fighters on this top twelve list. It seems Wii owners wanted some violence with their motion controls, and they got it. Facebreaker is an animated boxing title using Wii Controls, whacky characters, and outrageous moves. While it is available on other systems, get this, it was MADE FOR WII. Yes, finally companies get what we want. This title is not spectacular, in any means, but there is something sickly satisfying about hearing your enemies guttural screams.

7. Super Mario Galaxy

Contrary to what Nintendo tells the press, we all know Galaxy was for last holiday season. Mario embarks on a perilous journey across the universe to save...Peach...from Bowser. Nintendo must have spent hours thinking of that one. While the story isn't top notch, it's still decent, SMG offers a new take on 3D Mario, and typically for the better. If you're after a satisfying experience, offering a mix of old and new, easy and hard, then SMG may be just for you....this year.

6. Wii Fit

It's a hit, selling millions by the hour. For some odd reason, this game won't stay on store shelves. I don't get it...at all. While it's not up my alley, I see the appeal at using a video game to tell your weight to, it doesn't lie, unlike your bastard husband. Offering the simplistic Wii Sports style, Wii Fit doesn't push the limits in any way, except for using the Balance Board. While I don't get the concept, or enjoy it, Wii Fit is a success on so many levels, so it can't be left out.

5. Castlevania Judgment

Judgment is in no way a great title. It's just not. The character line-up is skewed, the fighting itself is decent, the story is alright, the graphics are "meh", and oh so many more qualms could be said. However, having an epic showdown between Dracula and a Golem is cool. So is a Castlevania Cat-Fight. Although not the best fighter out there to date, it is good. Linking up with Order of Ecclesia (a great title) offers neat bonuses, too.

4. Call of Duty: World at War  AND Guitar Hero: World Tour

Fourth place is hard to peg for me. CoD: WaW and GH: WT are both really great multi-platform games, but both of them are stripped down for the Wii. World at War lost its graphical prowess and many online features. Same with World Tour. Both are still solid titles, and appeal to different crowds. Guitar Hero is more of a party title, while you'll find yourself online a lot more with CoD. It's a matter of preference, but both titles offer a solid show, and you won't be disappointed. However, both are better on the other consoles, so, it's your choice.

3. No More Heroes

No More Heroes, an amazing title indeed. On your journey to become the top assassin with your lightsabre and fancy German motorcycle, you'll have a number of hilarious dialogues, as well as cutscenes. Saving is on the toilet, while you learn to fight through Lucha Libre videos. What's more is that NMH is one of the first, and best, M Rated titles. The fights are gory, the story whacky, and the gameplay down right fun. Sadly, the game didn't sell too well, much to my chagrin, but to your advantage, you can pick it up for a nice price tag of 20 bucks. Go get it now. Go.

2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl

What's better than an epic battle of Mario versus Link? How about Mario versus Sonic? Or Snake? Or Rayquaza? Brawl offers a bit for everyone; a story, a sticker book for the completionists, a stage builder, multiplayer (the meat of the game), and wifi capabilities. A number of Nintendo characters show up and wage war with one another. Several more make camoes. This is the ultimate Nintendo title, boasting amazing looks and sounds, on top of a good lineup of characters and stages, and the best fighting game of the year. If you haven't picked it up yet, do so.

1. Animal Crossing: City Folk

AC:CF is a cutsey title with strong appeal. You build your town up, go to the city, and never kill a Nazi once. This "hardcore" title should appeal to mom, your sister, your aunt, your hot neighbor next door, and you. Don't be ashamed, as with online, expanded features in the AC world, and other little touches, AC:CF is a pretty good game...if you're into things like this. Much like Wii Fit, I didn't mind the game, but got bored quickly. I do appreciate production values, and it's a hit with my friends, but it's not for me. Perhaps I've spent too much time with the Russian Clobber, Dracula, and WWII heroes. Eh, City Folk is a great buy, especially with voice chat through Wii Speak, and is worth your hard earned dough.

With that, 13 games got mention. That's not to say there are others that aren't good; Samba de Amigo, Mario Kart Wii (why isn't it up there...?), Endless Ocean, and a plethora of other great games. The Wii is limited by your imagination, and what you want. Compiling a list was incredibly difficult, but these games, assuming you don't buy AC:CF for a metalhead, and No More Heroes for your six year old nice, should appeal to someone on your list. Remember, the list is made from my perspective, and left for interpretation based on the genre the receiver likes, as well as age.

Regardless, the Holiday Season is upon us, and so are several great Wii games!

I'm far from an AC:CF fan, myself.

SkyMyl

You spelled niece wrong.

Anyway, good guide. I don't understand why Mario Kart Wii isn't there, but eh. Now I know what to get for my Mother. =P

Doodle

No Mario Kart Wii? It's one of the best Wii games out there!
I'll probably get Call of Duty 5, even though I'd get raped online...
Not too sure about that No More Heroes, though. Doesn't sound too appealing.
YEAH

The first always seems to be the best.  Maybe not for Brawl and Mario Kart though, in my own opinion of course.

Mystic

Why is Animal Crossing above No More Heroes?

Better yet, why is NMH not number one?

Macawmoses

Lotos, I borrowed it from a friend to review.

Mystic, NMH is high enough. It is fine in third.

Mutilator7

Cool guide, i still need to get accf, mario kart wii, and galaxy.

ThePowerOfOne

I still think Okami is the best Wii game so far <3
