How ironic of nightmares with Giygas, the information says that Itoi entered some theater for adults when he was a kid and saw a horrible image that made him to create Giygas when he created EarthBound.

Yeah, the inspiration did come from a movie he accidentally saw as a child, he remembered and is quoted saying that it was a rape scene, but people are saying it was a murder scene.
