this is complicated:

one of my friend's dad planned out a vacation to canada (for about 5 days, starting on the 24th) and he lives in Conneticut. now, his parents are divorced, and his dad told him that he needs a "public notary".
now, its complicated coz he wants to know if the "public notary" letter requires his mom's address to be on it, coz his mom doesnt want his dad to know where he lives, and quite frankly, neither does he.

so tell me, as i will tell him, what the hell does a public notary require? he knows that he needs his birth certificate, for one.

I'd ask the notary, being that they would be aware of laws. Assuming he is under 18 (hurr, he needs a notary), the father likely has rights to know - assuming he pays child support.

you couldnt be more correct. he pays CS, but it goes to a credit accnt, not mail, so his dad doesnt know where he lives. and its odd, coz his dad doenst put much pressure on him about his address.
