Ds on the wii.(Idea)

Every body remembers when you could play the gba on the gamecube.(I sure don't I never bought a gamecube until last year and I sold it in a month.)

Anyway alot of people have been wondering why they haven't done that with the ds and the wii.I thought of an Idea on how you can.

Top screen=Top half of tv.
Touch screen=Lower half of the tv.

A,B,X,Y=Wii's d-pad.
L=Z
R=B
Ds d-pad=Wii's control stick
Start=(+)
Select=(-)

You would use the wii's pointer as the stylus,you would see a cursor on the screen and you press A to "Tap" the touch screen.

The mic can be the wii speak.If you don't have wii speack you can use the 1 button as a blower(No jokes on that >:( ) and the 2 button to yell.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will have something like that on both systems, but not like you think it will.

Answer=Special USB Cord that connects the two together. You insert the disc, (like GC/GBA) and then you turn on your DS and see that the tv is showing your DS screens.

(still have no clue about the stylus.)

Don't think this is a new idea. It's only been thought up this exact same way like 100k times.
You forgot to mention the way it'd connect. Which likely would be wireless connection. When the channel is opened, it connects to the DS through download play then downloads the game currently inserted in the DS. It may either stream the game screens and input while the DS is on or download and emulate the game itself, depending on whether wireless bandwidth and system specs can handle it.

With the DS's screen resolution of 256x192x2 with a gap between screens of up to 92 pixels, that'd at least fit vertically on the 4:3 standard definition TV output using 256x476 pixels out of the TV's 640x480. I dunno about widescreen though, it depends on whether it just uses a lower height or higher width. The screens could at least be placed horizontally on widescreen for either 604x192 (placing one screen on the left and the other on the right) or 476x256 (rotating the DS around, like for Brain Age). The player would of course have options to switch between these screen placement options. Or it could also zoom in on only one screen to rescale it from 256x192 to 512x384 (200%) or 640x480 (250%). Interlacing would reduce the video quality for those not using progressive with the component cables, but it'd have to settle just like how the Gameboy Player also settled for interlacing.

The DSplayer could also download GBA games either wirelessly from the DS the same way as DS games or through the GBA-GCN cable being connected to one of the GCN controller slots. The 240x160 resolution of GBA is easy to fit and can be easily treated similarly to the Gameboy Player. The 160x144 resolution of GB/GBC can also work if those are supported through the GBA-GCN cable method.

The disc is superceded by the channels. Gameboy Player's disc was so small file size that all required info was easily stored in the GCN's RAM just after boot. So it'd be a small download size for the channel.
The cords aren't worth it. There has never been one cord so far for the DS other than the charger, for good reason. The only way for a cord to be connected is with a specialized Gameboy-slot cartridge, which would be very bulgy.

That button mapping sucks. A wirelessly connected DS may provide all those inputs with just the TV being used for the screen, or perhaps a Classic Controller can have perfectly corresponding buttons, with left joy functioning the same as the D-pad and ZL, ZR, Home, and the right joystick being free for other features or options menu navigating. Or a GCN pad with the same, only with Z replacing select and C-stick being the only free control on the pad. The 2 button to yell would be unnecessary, though 1 to make blowing noise could be just a little useful. Of course, the right joy/c-stick may also be used for pointer function.

It'd probably never happen, at least for Nintendo. Some dedicated homebrewer may someday do it if they figure out how to send download play packets to the DS with Wii homebrew, or perhaps they'd make two seperate apps for DS and for Wii homebrew, requiring both the Homebrew Channel and a DS flashcard to work. I'd use it just for the ability to record gameplay video from the DS with my TV Tuner.

You forgot about closing Bluaki, some games actually require the DS to close, EX: LoZ: PH, in order to find out where that treasure was, you had to "put one map on the other" (Close the DS) to see where you had to search in the ocean.

Not at all. PBR allows the Pokemon game to connect then downloads the team and uses them in battles that do not affect your D/P status at all. It doesn't emulate the D/P game or whatever.
Pokemon Stadium, however, had the Gameboy Tower. And Pokemon Box could play Ruby/Sapphire in a similar way to the Gameboy Player.

I thought about that, like the gameboy player was to the gamecube (ah, the smell of useless periphials, even though i have one). But the touch screen and microphone would make it akward and impossible to do.

I think someone suggested this in Nintendo Power once. The problem is, you just don't get the same precision with the WiiMote as you do with a DS stylus. It's hard to get... down to the pixel with a wiimote when you're shaking.
