First true gameplay footage of Black Knight, as well as some CG.
A lot of sword play is shown, and honestly I'm quite impressed. It looks like common enemies can be slashed through fairly quickly, more for visual flair than anything and some basic combat. It actually looks like a far more polished version of Secret Rings, which can only be a good thing. We also see Merlina for the first time (a mix between Sharha of Secret Rings and Zelda from LoZ). Overall it looks pretty good.

Also, possible rumor fom a 4chan board, although since it's 4chan, I don't know how reliable it is. Basically the rumor is that whatever the next Sonic game will be after Unleahsed, it'll be modled almost completely after the day levels in Unleashed, it added platforming and taking out stuff like the werehog (platforming to make up for it). Also, side characters are option, but it'd be similar to like Sonic 2 and 3, where it'll essentially be the same game but with some extra abilities depending on the character. I hope it's true because that would be a big HELL YEA! in my book.

I'm still waiting for the return of the Adventure gameplay, but any truly good, playable Sonic would be welcome. Haven't gotten a new one since Shadow...

The Game Boy Pocket.
Put it in your back pocket.
Sit down and it breaks.

That video disappoints me, it looks like a new version of S&tSR except with a sword... Though I will probably end up getting it, I doubt it will be very fun, unless it's different for every character (I heard you can use Tails & Knuckles somewhere), or it's not ALL running with no hope of stopping.

Did you think Secret Rings was bad or something? It's essentially the same fundamental gameplay (but with analog control) with motion sensing sword stuff.
You can play as:
Sonic in main mode and multiplayer
Knuckles, Shadow, and Blaze in multiplayer only.

Running without stop is horrible. I prefer being able to explore if I want to, and Sonic was made as someone who killed while in ball form, and should stay that way.

Well...what do you mean by "explore".
Do you mean alt. paths or actual exploring. If it's the latter then Sonic has never been your cup of tea then X_X;;

Gimmicky spin-off sequel looks... good?
*explodes at sight of logic defiance*
I really like how the sword is used... as in, it's exactly the same as if you didn't have a sword, only it looks cooler.  Looks extremely slow, though, and I don't know if I can settle for a level that's slow AND on rails; Unleashed has set a standard that I demand be fulfilled.  As for multi-player, 1. WHERE THE HECK IS ROUGE?  She was fighting at Knuckles' level before Blaze was even created, yet they blatantly ignore her fighting potential once again.  2. What kind of multi-player are we talkin?  Combat?  Race?  Mini-game?  Combat-Racing Mini-game?

Oh, and please don't tell me I'm the only one who thinks the new song sounds exactly like a Pokemon anime theme.

Man, I hope you are right about the next sonic rumour Nayr.
If it is, the internet truly will crash. :D

I just hope they can modify the Hedgehog engine a little, so there's no frame rate drops.

I'm so buying Black knight, looks like an awesome version of SatSR, and that was pretty fun. :)

I mean not needing to stop to finish, but being able to stop and explore for an upgrade or something, not RUN RUN RUN OOPS I MISSED SOMETHING RUN RUN RUN OOPS I FELL RUN RUN RUN

Secret Rings utterly sucked, but this looks kinda nice. Its storyline also looks like it wouldn't wind up as terrible as Secret Rings'.
Though, I do wish Sega would go back to the gameplay type in the sonic stages of the Adventure games. With newer games like Unleashed, it often feels like you're just holding forward then making quick responses to only certain things like turns, jumps, tricks (in the air to make you fly to a higher platform or whatever), and stuff like that. The Adventure games actually let you explore for things like hidden items, while in games like Secret Rings and Unleashed you just need to jump at the right moment to get those hidden items (if the timing is just a bit off, you have to either run around in circles or restart the stage to get it).

Silverhawk79

Hmm. I don't think I like the looks of this new Sonic game. IMO, the only decent Sonic game in the past few years was Sonic Rush. It felt like the old school Sonic games, and I liked it. The boss battles were repetitive and boring, though, but the cool minigame was fun.

Tupin

Looks better than Secret Rings, at least you can slow down long enough to kill enemies.

Can't tell you how many times I ran right past and enemy I needed to kill.

The Riddler

Gimmick. Gimmick. Gimmick. Gimmick.

And moar gimmick.

Sonic doesn't need a sword, and the game needs more Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik.

Christ, they just keep intercourse ing with him.

I could say the same to Nintendo about basically everything they've produced since the Wii came out.

I agree that he doesn't need a sword, but if it makes the gameplay fun I'll accept it.
Oh, and Tails and Knuckles are in the game X_X;;
