Would it be bad to go see this movie just to laugh at it?

I don't know if I'll be able to sit through it, even though I've only not been able to sit through one movie, which was Batman and Robin.

TIME TO CHILL OUT, GEORGE CLOONEY!

I apparently saw it opening day, but I was a little kid, so I thankfully do not remember it. >_>

I watched it this summer, made it about twenty minutes in.

Longer than the Nostalgia Critic lasted before he went insane.
I saw it as a kid, but I was a stupid kid and liked anything Batman, regardless of what it was.

Sad to say Batman and Robin will probably be a better movie than this movie with the title Dragonball pointlessly slapped on top of it.

Seriously, I know the whole Dragon Ball/Dragonball Z storyline is pretty convoluted, but are they even making the movie with help from Bandai?

It may be convoluted but at least the main anime (excluding movies) it at least makes sense.
Nope, 20th Century Fox is doing this all by themselves...and it's blatantly obvious. I mean really they didn't get one story aspect correct in the trailer. The dragonballs were NOT made by sages, they were made by the namekians. Piccolo isn't entirely evil, he's the evil split of Kame. It was not an ancient evil. There was no eclipse. and for gods sake goku does NOT go to school! I could rant for hours on how this movie is just plain wrong (and where the hell is Krillin!?)

The sad thing is that someone wrote an article for my school newspaper listing the Top 10 Movies to Watch Out for in 2009.

Dragonball ranked #9.

I couldn't even believe that he ranked it in the first place!
I was dumbfounded by this.

The rest of the choices at least made sense...

To be fair, I would have put it on the list had I made it, possibly in another section, but with the commentary among the lines of:

"Even though I am not a Dragonball fan, Fox's adaptation of the famous Japanese manga/anime will probably be an entertaining film, although not in a good way. Based on the trailers, it will do nothing but enrage fans and confuse the public. Plan to see it only if you are a Dragonball fan that can laugh at inaccuracies caused by confused network execs that never bothered to read the manga or even watch the anime. Look for it in 2009 all right, but only on the list of future Razzie nominations."

I'm going to rent Mortal Kombat for preparation of this crap-fest.

This will either be an unfortunate success like Disaster Movie or one of the biggest critical and box office bombs ever.

I'd go for "unfortunate success."  As much as they've screwed things up for fans, I'm sure it will still be a decent movie for those who aren't familiar with Dragonball.  I think that should be the mentality you all should have when seeing this movie:  that it is a totally new concept, and any names of people or places synonymous with the anime/manga are complete coincidence.

Then why bother getting the license!? Make your own darn origionality instead of leeching off of someone else's work...like Godzilla 98.
A perfect example of what I'm saying is "The Lion King". Yea, it's pretty copy/paste of Kimba the White Lion, but they made everything different instead of blatantly copying.

No. Just no.
Even if it was a completely original movie, the movie doesn't even look decent.
Goku looks like an idiot.
