I am BorisAcornKing.

This is what I had posted there:

"Yeah, but the bible was one big work of fiction anyways. Why would they base Lost off of something even more ridiculous than the show itself?"

Aight?  I've seen far worse.

Now, go to the next page, last post.

"The Bible is the most printed piece of fiction in the history of the Western world

They says I'S BE TROLLIN!

I responded with an explanation as to how it's not trolling, just their idiotic beliefs, along with this:

That would be because

a) You were trolling. It's not your job to attempt to disprove others' religion, because such debate is almost never fruitful and just leads to a poopstorm.
b) GameFAQs has notoriously strict moderators.

I don't understand your surprise/outrage/whatever.

How is that trolling though?  Their opinion that the bible is truthful should, in theory, be just as insulting to me as my assertion that the bible is false.

You knew the reaction that you would receive, and truthfully were trying to incite it.

yet when christians talk about the bible, they need not heed the thoughts of people who have differing beliefs.

I fail to see how talking about the Bible or saying something like "My favorite Bible quote is John 3:16" qualifies as proselytism. Now if they are, for example, using the Bible to attempt to prove how the universe was created or using it as moral justification for attempting to force someone else to act a certain way, that's crossing the line.

If they were saying that "I believe the Bible is true," before you resort to retarded one-liners, perhaps you ought to have considered the possibility that they only consider certain sections from the Bible as canon. Even if you weren't to think of that, you could have quite easily posted "I don't see why the producers would have based it off of the Bible" or "Yeah, but there are other explanations such as _____ and ____."

And even even if you had to have gotten your point across, you could have simply said "I don't particularly like the Bible" and left it at that.

I just recieved a response to my appeal, saying "Claiming the bible is fiction is grounds for trolling. "

CE will have fun with this one indeed.

I have no problems with someone stating anything about the bible, but I don't feel that my feelings on it should be suppressed either, which is exactly what is happening here.

If you went on for paragraphs explaining why you think what you do, perhaps it would've not come over as trolling as much as it did.

That's what I do anyway.

I think that's fair enough, but it just feels that in this world, with christianity as the main religion, that everyone has to explain to them, rather than they having to explain to everyone else.

Well it's obviously not all fiction because there are some things that are verifiable through other sources.

How do you explain ignorance?

But actually, I've found a few people who do.  There was a certain user on oldsider...um...SUPERSQUIRREL3 or something like that...who wrote freaking paragraphs supporting creationism and actually made for really good debate.

true, but large parts of itself prove itself to be fiction through the large contradictions.
