Turns out it wasn't what you were expecting?

For example, I saw this store called "The Gaming Matrix", and I thought it was a video game store.  So I ask Hero if we could go there today, and we did.
It was a D&D and LARPing store.  I saw men ages 30-40 playing... Magic the Gathering.  The moment I saw the foam swords and shields, I felt... very uncomfortable...  especially considering the fact that I was the only female in that store, and some people were staring at me.  I practically shoved my husband out of the store when I saw bottles of "Mana" for sale.

It was scary.

Got any scary stories?
We have one of those stores in town. D:
One of my friends used to work there. >_>

whats D&D and LARPing?
Dungeons and Dragons and Live Action Role Playing.

Been to one of those stores, Red. Not scary, the employees were too busy playing D&D to notice any customers.
so like, Pokemon Cards?

lmao
...no

Dungeons and Dragons is a very involved tabletop role playing game with a huge library (literally, over 30 books) of rules and expansions.  One of the most insanely-thought-out and open games ever.

LARPing is going out at night with foam swords (or nothing, doesn't matter) and go on a quest or something that doesn't exist.  Basically, it's the same as "make-believe" but adult-ized.

Yesterday, sort of. I was on the verge of crying. Why? I got into an argument with a couple other people from #nsider and it got me really upset. I didn't really cry much though

I've played D&D before. It's fun if you don't take it totally seriously.

The modern console RPG'S are based on this, so I've got no problem with it.

T_T

But it is fun if your DM has a sense of humor.  Once someone wouldn't stop moving around, so the DM made the character trip and roll 1d4 for damage.  It's also fun when the DM keeps up with insane party members...like one time, we were supposed to be going into a city, but one person wanted to disguise themselves in a bedsheet from a house that was not planned out at all.  Best improv session ever.
