   I'm pretty sure he was holding back. But anyway, I would fight him if I get the chance, and if he plays like that I think I could win. But if he is better than that... I think I could make it close or win.

Local tournament winner, to be exact.  I know, I was surprised too, but it didn't specify where "local" is, unless I forgot what the description said.  Either way, yeah, she won the tournament and got to go up against Sakurai as a surprise present, I guess.  Yoiy!

He looked like he was gonna yoga kick that crate and kill himself but he was facing the wrong way.  I do think he was going easy. 

Yeah, I noticed that, too.  Weird choice to do, but he failed at it whatever he was planning on doing.  So... that means he failed at commiting suicide?  O.O

Yeah pretty much.  It's really hard to see if he was holding back or not.  I wish they showed the whole match.

I'm sure all of us here could beat him. He's said he's not good at Smash in any way, and he doesn't play it that often. Just with people who know him well and when they feel like playing.
In fact, of all the big name Japanese game designers, only Kojima is actually known as a good gamer himself (Miyamoto and Naka are surprisingly bad at their own games, although Naka is far better since he was a programmer, and ended up play testing a lot in his early days)

Creators of games don't become pro at their games. They make it for money, not for their entertainment. I highly doubt he's like you guys and spends half of every day training.

If I ever made a game, I would make sure I knew that game inside and out. I would make sure NOBODY beat me at that game.
