I no longer watch American television except for some choice one-time things, and that's mostly on Discovery, History, or Sci-fi.

People like you help dilute our culture to nothingness.

More like, people who watch a lot of TV and don't engage in intellectual behavior dilute our culture to nothingness.

Japan + anime does not = intellectual...

Sure some anime is mindless, but if you say seriously mind-bending anime isn't intellectual, I don't think you know the power of anime.

History channel is great if nothing else is on. I particularly like their "Rome" series. It's pretty good, although a bit bland when you get to the no name emperors that only expanded territory though.
Otherwise certain anime (Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, and to some extent FMA) prove how far behind american entertainment really is X_X;;

I actually miss the classics being regularly aired. Kids today are missing out. Jeez, I remember when TBS was the only channel showing cartoons from 2-4, and it was all Looney Tunes an Hannah Barbara stuff...
