The Commodore 64 game The Great Giana Sisters, infamous for being a Super Mario Bros. clone to the point that Nintendo sued the developers, is back with a retro revival on DS.

It's currently only out in Germany, considering the game was originally German. It's expected to make the jump to the States in June, and I can tell you, it looks very good. Your thoughts?

I actually might get this...only because it's taking Nintendo so darn long to make NSMB2 instead of the crap they've been making for the DS lately not named Mario and Luigi 3

Yeah, it's a pretty good game, even if some levels are pretty much exact copies of Super Mario Bros.

We'll see if I pick it up. It does look promising (and I've heard of it o.O), but it's not a priority like other titles on the DS will be for me.

Blaperile

I don't think I'll go buy that. I still stay with my favorite Luigi. XD
Blaziken must be a character in Super Smash Bros!

Is there any word on if this will be a knock off of NSMB? That'd be hilarious.

I'm guessing that it will just be a graphical update of the original, but I hope they do that.

Either way, it will be an awesome game. Still surprised Nintendo is allowing this on their system, but I guess they have changed and realize it's a parody. Seriously, even the name is the exact opposite of Super Mario Brothers.

I think Nintendo needs to realize the audience....parodies are just in good fun.

And a NSMB knockoff would be hilarious.
