So, I have a dippoop neighbour. He blares techno starting about 1 AM, and goes hardcore until about 6 AM. Now, my issue is too fold:

I have exams frequently, so when I need sleep, I need it.
The music sucks.

My point is that I am about to kill him. Really. Walk over, rip our his eyes, and let them watch while I smash his tunes.

What should I really do?

My neighbor constantly plays awesome music, so I don't really mind.

Also, I sleep better with noise.

How loud do you hear it exactly?

He lives five houses down; my mattress shakes lightly, and I can clearly make out whatever lyrics there may be when it isn't just OOMTS OOMTS BASS BASS OOMTS OOMTS

You should sleep with a fan. The noise of the fan might drown out the noise of your poor-taste-in-music neighbor's noise, and the white noise of the fan might help you fall asleep.

Plus, you get that nice breeze.

You live in America, right? Call the cops and file a noise complaint. Loudness past 11PM is disturbing the peace.

I live in the south with most of the people in my neighborhood being white southerners.
I'm Jewish, and we basically hang out with the other Jewish family and the Muslim and Hindi families that live near us.

Three houses surround mine. Two of them don't even have English-speaking residents. :| The other people have their lights on super bright, and the worst part is, THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE ANY GOD DAMNED CURTAINS.

I used to. There was a black family that moved in from NYC about 2 years ago, and every intercourse ing day, maybe twice or thrice on special occasions, they called the cops. It was horrible, the time and day didn't matter or anything.

I think they moved out last year, though. The only annoying thing nowadays is the Puerto Rican family that lives across the street from us, but they're only bad during July. They think that July 1st to 31st is considered Independence Month, launching fireworks every night from 8 PM to 11 PM - 1 AM :|

not on the same scale as you, but our next-door neighbors drink and party from 10:00 to 4:00 every single friday and saturday. they also smoke weed in the garage and smoke cigarettes inside (and we can smell them because our housing air systems are connected). We've called the cops numerous times, filing noise complaints, but they just don't intercourse ing care.
