Detroit plays the ducks, I hope they can beat them.  That was embarassing two years ago.

Vancouver beats Chicago, Vancouver plays Detroit, intense final countdown showdown.

Vancouver actually beating Detroit would surprise me, but I wouldn't be too sad.  Vancouver is my fave canadian team after all.

West is best.

West is best, but not that far. I hate Vancouver to the point of wanting them to fail miserably. Both Alberta teams have put aside their hatred for one another and merged into a super BC hating group. Fun.

In my hockey pool I have one Canucks player. One. I think they'll be out second round. Youth movement for Chicago isn't bad at all, same idea as the Oilers, just done well.

I'm surrounded by Canucks fans here, and a bit of it leaks into me.  In Manitoba, we are obliged to hate all of the eastern teams, except for the Montreal rebels, and we are obliged to hate the Alberta teams (uhhtheygetsomuchmorethanusuhhuhhisaidanus).  The only canadian team left is Vancouver, because we don't have our Jets :(

as a result, I cheer for the last team to play a playoff game here, the Red Wins.

San Jose has the fanbase to match.  The Coyotes, Lolanders, Predators do not.

San Jose has been good for a long time, but they suck balls in the playoffs.
