A little something about 2012

I was doing some research on Nostradamus for English a week ago, and I came across a video on the History Channel site. It was about 2012. So here are a few little things interesting about this date.

December 21, 2012 has showed up in a few cultures around the world, in Egypt, China, and the well known random ending of the Mayan calendar.

In Egypt, one of the Temples has like an engraving in the sealing of exactly what the sky will look like on the winter solstice of 2012. It points out where all 13 of the zodiac signs are in the sky that day. Apparently there was originally 13 signs, not 12 and the Egyptians decided that 12/21/12 was a special occasion that the 13th sign comes back.

In China the "I Ching" I believe it's called has also predicted 2012. This book is most commonly used for people to tell their own fortune. But, some guy(it's been a while I don't quite remember his name) went and graphed the symbols in such a way it made a graph of our timeline from past to future. The more interesting thing about this graph is the it drops down to rock bottom on the winter solstice of 2012.

The most commonly known thing used for the prediction is the Mayan's calender. I'm fairly certain you all know the great, seemingly perfect, calender the Mayan's have. But they also, had chose to end at December 21, 2012.(Those who say "They just ran out of rock" well, I'm sure people are that stupid, it probably seemed like a random thing for them to do, otherwise it probably wouldn't have been made such a big deal.)

Another, more recent prediction on 2012 is called the "Web-bot" http://aphroditeastrology.com/2007/05/web-bot-project-and-2012.html
This also had come up with a dramatic "something" on 2012. But I personally think it could just be picking up all the talk of 2012 and it's just some extra "noise" of it's made purpose. But if this thing is really good at what it does, then according to this video on the History site, "We should have something like a minor nuclear war  around 2008-2009 times."
We'll see about that soon I guess...

And a little something else, There is a dark rift, in our perspective of our galaxy which, more recently, a very large black hole was discovered that inhabits this dark rift in the galaxy. And scientists say that around the 2012 time, our very planet is going to get in a direct line from that rift and black hole, through the sun, to us.

And NASA was also brought up in the video. They had come up with a theory on what could happen on that day, which I believe is explained here - http://formerthings.wordpress.com/2008/01/17/nasa-claims-earth-pole-shift-2012-isaiah-24/

It basically is that our Earth, has in the past, and will do it again, shift it's poles around. And NASA believes it's possible that the Earths mantle will start to rotate, causing the poles to shift. This theory is also able to explain all the earth quakes and tsunamis that are called for by all the profits/oracles. They all seem to claim that earth quakes will shake all around the world, giant waves will flood the earth, and all that jazz.




Now, the logical part of my brain says most of this is non-sense. But I'm not going to lie, I'm quite fascinated by an apocalyptic day. I'm not too sure why, probably because it would be exciting. I also don't think I'm the only one fascinated by that kind of stuff.


So, talk about 2012, an apocalyptic day/doomsday, Judgment day from the bible(including the other "end of the word" theories from other cultures, I only know the name of the Christian one). I had gotten quite bored and that's why I posted. I'm going to stop typing now because if you actually read all that you probably are tired of reading. Post away....

On the weather channel I saw a commercial about that. Was going to watch it, but I think I needed to do something.
Anyway, I don't really think anything is going to happen in 2012.
Plus, that's the year I graduate. All of my schooling would be pointless. D:

By December of 2012, tensions with the middle-eastern countries will have grown so much, that on December 1st, 2012, the president will sign an act of war against one of the "-an" countries.

16 days later, on December 17st, 2012, it will be decided that a nuclear missile will be fired at whichever country we may be with war at on the 21st. When it arrives, the explosion will be so big, that we will go into a permanent nuclear winter, and everyone will intercourse ing die.[/silly]

I'm saying only what, a small percent of cultures have something about 2012 out of thousands , didn't think I'd have to spell it out

It's interesting to think about, sure. But I try not to think about an apocalypse or whatever, really, why would anyone? Whatever happens happens, you wouldn't be able to stop it.

Well, first of all... I believe that ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

On that note... I don't think anything major is going to happen. IT COULD, but I don't think it will.

It is incredibly odd though that so many people got to that exact same year. All of which end on a bad note.

I actually have watched TONS of these things on the History channel(only thing I watch).

I really don't care if life ends. Kinda cool to think about and it's really annoying not knowing what comes next so you could say I kinda look forward to it. But at the same time this doesn't seem very possible. There are many ways for the world to end and the biggest threat I see is an Asteroid as we don't know where, I believe, 60-80% of them are.
But with all our satellites and camera's in space we could destroy it and probably get a meteor shower. While this is deadly in itself it still won't kill all life.
Another theory I have heard is that the polar ice caps are going to melt. Mayan, Egyptian, and everything else couldn't foresee cars. They don't have future-sight. So that one is gone.
