QuoteGoogle bosses have employed a 200-strong herd of goats to help them keep their headquarters tidy.

The goats have been brought in to the search company's Mountain View base in California to clear weeds and mow grass.

Dan Hoffman from the search giant said they decided to take a low-carbon approach rather than using gasoline mowers to tidy fields.

"A herder brings about 200 goats and they spend roughly a week with us at Google, eating the grass and fertilizing at the same time," he said.

Unfortunately for the goats they do not get to enjoy perks of working for Google like use of the beanbag-filled meeting rooms, ping-pong tables and a free cafeteria.
"Instead of using noisy mowers that run on gasoline and pollute the air, we've rented some goats to do the job for us.

"It costs us about the same as mowing, and goats are a lot cuter to watch than lawn mowers."

Lets just hope that once they have finished the goats don't get sacrificed to the god of internet searches.
This is pretty cool. Hopefully we see more big-name companies doing things like this. It could make normal people decide to do things like this.
Only it takes a week. It would only take a day or two with a lawn mower and then plucking the weeds.
YEAH

Goats are too cool. lol I would do it just for the sake of having goats at my house.
...Friend codes were probably implemented by the same people who wanted tripping in Brawl...
...It's quite obvious...

You have to pay to get the goat.
But after that, it's free. ^_^

Have they considered the environmental implications of the goats breathing constantly and their farting, not to mention the usual carbon emmisions of just having the grass cut?

Exactly.  Not to mention the potenital smell of poop, the need to have them get veteranary care, and more.

Still, it's a novel idea.  Now, I need to get my automatic, 1 minute full lawn trimming system patented that'll be even more environmentally friendly and will require basic maintenance.
