And I'm not talking about your dumb gaming moments, nor am I talking about the obvious and pointed out dumb moments. What I am wondering, what dumb game moments have you seen that would've made the game easier, but they did it a different way?
EX: In Paper Mario, when they go to Bowser's castle with the ship, they go in the mouth of the castle, the idiots, why not just fly up to Peach's castle? or better yet, to that weird platform where you fight Bowser?

1. In Klonoa, not once but TWICE your pals drop you off at the BOTTOM of the fortress, yet they easily could've just flown you to the two were the boss obviously was.
2. If Megaman can teleport OUT of the boss rooms, why can't he just teleport directly in to them?

In Pokemon GSC, why can't you just travel from Kanto to Johto? You have to go to the Bullet Train.

In Pokemon, why bother catching Pokemon? Just steal from other trainers.

Because somehow whenever you throw a pokéball at a trainer's pokémon, they somehow block it just in time.

The DS visual novel Time Hollow has a somewhat linear storyline that is reached in a nonlinear way (by visiting different locales around the city).  Some of the restrictions to keep you "on the right path" are absolutely ridiculous.

Right now, I'm looking for Ashley in the town.  She went missing after she got into a fight with Emily over losing money to buy me (in-game) a birthday present in front of the popular café, Chronos.  So I think, obviously, "I should go into Chronos to see if anyone knows what happened to her or maybe she's even in there."

*clicks to enter Chronos*

"Me" (in-game): "What am I thinking?  Now's not the time for coffee.  I need to find Ashley!"

*doesn't let me in*

Me (irl): "...:|"

Then you capture the trainer and his Pokemon at the same time.

Win-win situation my friend.
