Well, they have Alex Kidd, but I think they used him in Sega All-Stars Tennis.

They haven't used him in anything since the Genesis days.
Again, a retry of Sonic R with modern technology (ya know, actually make them FAST) could potentially be good. Frankly, we know this isn't going to be good. The only non-Mario Kart to be any good was the first Crash Bandicoot attempt on the PS1.
SEGA, quit whoring out Sonic. At least until you can consistently make GOOD Sonic games X_X;;

Triforceman22

holy poop, your complaining more than usual.

Reminds me of diddy Kong racing.
could have SOME potential....
But I doubt i'll buy, or even rent it.

I don't know why, but I actually have some good feeling about this game.  Granted, it's not exactly the Adventure 3 game that all 92 SEGA fans have been waiting for, but I actually have higher hopes for it than I did for the story book and Riders series.

As for Nayrman's complaints (not that anyone on the planet could change his opinion on a Sonic game):
1.  Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing are GOOD games, while modern Sonic games are BAD games.  Maybe it's actually a good idea for SEGA to try ideas that have already been proven to work, rather than trying to make another stretchy werehog/book-based/gun+hedgehog/flat-out-terrible-06-style game.
2.  The other characters WOULD NOT OUT-SPEED SONIC without him being automatically slowed somehow, and so, believe it or not, giving cars to all of them including Sonic actually makes for a more realistic race... unless you prefer the mystical Necessity-To-The-Plot power that has caused him to slow down when racing plumbers.

1. SEGA has been almost blatantly copying Nintendo since they went third party. Hasn't worked out so far. By the way, they DID try a car racer for Sonic... twice. Both failed miserably and were terrible games. If it didn't work then when Sonic was GOOD, it's not going to work now. Especially when even Nintendo's take on the cart racer has been overly done.
2. They did so in the olympic games like you said. I'd rather have him nerfed than doing something completely idiotic... like driving a car. And yes, a more realistic race between a hedgehog, mad scientist, maraca shaking monkey, etc. I know it's supposed to be "unrealistic", but being stupid has no excuse.

Doodle

But it wouldn't look and feel right if Sonic was just running around while everyone else was driving. You can't have that.
Also keep in mind Sonic R is a little over 10 years old.
YEAH

It also doesn't look right having Mario beat Sonic in anything other than a jumping competition. But tell that to anyone who worked on the Olympic games crap...

But you can't have Sonic smoking everyone in every competition involving running, either.

which is why they should've made a platformer instead of a stupid ass minigame sports package.

Macawmoses

As a note, I think the fact it appears to be a Diddy Kong Racing rip makes it a seemingly good title. D:

Zero

Looks like a decent rip off of DKR, but I don't care. I'll probably rent this. I've been wanting a new racing game.

This game looks decent I say, maybe not Mario Kart good, but good none the less. And yes Sonic in a car sounds bizarre, but did you read the thread? "With the three vehicle options," and if you look at the pics, there are obviously more than 3 total. So with that said, who knows? One of Sonic's "vehicles" could be some kind of shoes that allows him to run. Along with that, maybe the Monkey Ballers have a Ball vehicle.

you know what I mean by "in stuff". It's essentially like having Pit in Brawl. Sure it's nice they're recognizing him but I fail to see the point unless they actually do something with him X_X;;

Tupin

Yeah, except he's different from Pit because most of his games suck.
