Today at E3 "Left 4 Dead 2" was announced to come out on November 17, one year (minus one day) since the original L4D came out.

So far announced or confirmed are:

The new AI Director 2.0

4 new characters

4 New melee weapons, Axe, Chainsaw, Frying pan, and Baseball Bat (yes it makes the same sound as the scouts =p)

More than 4 campaigns (Possibly, I know it has more maps than L4D and is longer)

More maps, More emphasis on Co-op (MORE emphasis, how)

Survival and versus out of the box (Don't have to wait for survival like with L4D, doesn't mean new game modes won't come out)

New special infected!

I'll post more and update as more information comes out!

(put it here 2, sot hat people won't miss this info)

Now I'm kinda glad I never bought L4D. If they are just going to make a new one each year then no point in actually buying one(kinda like how I never buy sports games)

Oh Vesperia, never change... never change

Tupin

Yeah, I guess I'll just wait for the new one now.

L4D is still worth playing.
I already played it. I just said that it wasn't worth buying. But it would be cool if they made this a yearly thing. "L4D 2012:End of the World"  :D

Sweet, but the new characters look......meh, especially the scout wannabe.

But I guess it makes more sense than a badass biker, college girl, computer guy, and an ex-veteran.

Like was said...another? So soon? Bullpoop. I'd rather see a wait in between titles like this. Don't turn into the Guitar Hero franchise D:

At least they can add new stuff to this with DLC or something.

Super Mario Galaxy 2, I seriously thought they were showing footage of the original until they showed Yoshi.

I guess I'm one of the few looking forward to this game. I've loved L4D and really, Valve making a new one every so often doesn't seem like a bad thing. It's almost parallel to their whole idea that the series is like a movie. Besides, what else would Valve announce? Their major projects, HL Episode 3 and the next Portal game (I think that's still TBA), would be even worse selections for E3 I think. L4D2 is enough to tide people over till then and it shows that Valve cares enough to give fans something this year other than just a pretty picture and a video trailer.
As for the game itself, admittedly I'll be a bit biased since I'm from the south myself, but it looks great and really, I play Valve's games for the artistic value to a degree. LA state is a great selection for the series with all the culture involved with the area as seen in one screen shot of the graves. The characters will be very fun to play as I'm sure. Think how much a black man will swear if you shoot him in the foot. :p
All in all, I think it will be an awesome expansion on the series. If anything, survival records will be what keep people from getting too bored after the 5 campaigns. Speaking of the small number of campaigns, wasn't Valve getting an SDK set up for PC users? Sure that leaves 360 fans crying, but hey, it's something for some of us...
