....if Nintendo doesn't work with computers, TVs, or blu-rays like Microsoft and Sony, why is it that they are lazy. I mean, if Project Natal goes over better than the Wiimote, then Nintendo is screwed if Microsoft decides to go with casual games alongside of their more-hardcore games. What are your thoughts about this?

What?

Natal going over better than the Wiimote is unlikely, and if it does happen, I'm sure Nintendo has plenty to back themselves up with. Keep in mind the Wii and DS install is really high, so even if they see sharp declines, they'll be able to use those to help promote whatever their next line is. Also, Nintendo has characters that sell to kids. Mario. Pikachu. Etc. All infinitely more well known than Sly Cooper and Master Chief. They'd make use of their mascots, and possibly look at a restructure.

Nintendo has too big a casual base right now to worry about anything for the moment. Which is unfortunately leading to their superiority complex that will eventually be their undoing.

I doubt Natal will put a dent in the Wii's market. If anything Sony's wand seems more of a threat since it seem to be doing everything the Wii can do, except a whole lot better.

Nothing will happen in the short term, Nintendo is just biding it's time and waiting to see what Sony and Microsoft do with their motion sensors. I'm sure they have some ideas as to what to do if those should sell well and become popular. However, if that happens they'll actually have to work a lot sooner then they would've expected. If not, then they'll continue with the same old crap until the casual phase dies out and they fall like a rock and come crying back to us begging for forgiveness (a.k.a. the mid-to-late gamecube era)

Actually, I'm pretty sure they already have a response to Natal and the wand. Iwata had expected their answer to Wii a year sooner, which means, at the very least, they far in R&D on something new. But, like you said, biding their time. No sense in causing concern amongst the stockholders - as if Nintendo shows any signs of being worried by Natal/Wand...then their value wanes.

I'm just interested in their plan technology wise for the next system.
You can only stay technologically behind for so long before it really bites you in the ass.

As far as the motion controls go, they're gonna stick with just the WMP for a good long time... well, if they would make more than two or three games for it. So far the only game I want that has plans to use it is the new Zelda... which we know is going to get pushed to the next console.

You'd think Nintendo has to be somewhat worried. After all, hopefully they know that the casual audience will only last so long, and if the competition do the motion controls just as good or better than they do, they're more than screwed if they ever hope to please the core audience ever again.

But since they're usually so secretive about everything (to the point of annoyance), I'm sure they've got something. I don't know if it'll help them, but they always have some sort of plan
