According to Suda, after NMH2 is released any sequels will be on another platform, as he says that they can't do anything more with the system.
Between that and an earlier interview of Suda being very interested in Natal, I doubt after NMH2 we'll see much of anything from Suda51 on Nintendo for quite a while.
Big blow to Nintendo, as they're the only ones who seem to know how the Wii works besides Capcom and SEGA.

I honestly doubt he'll stay with that philosophy. Nintendo will assuredly pressure him, and all it takes is a reminder of the fact they backed titles like Contact and Killer 7. Even if it is a while between games, I really imagine we will see more of him.

Now, as for NMH moving platforms....I don't think that will help the series at all. In fact, I think the success it DOES have attributed to it will be because of the starving Wii market.

Quite obviously that is a good portion of NMH's success. I think Suda is banking on the sequel doing even better and making NMH a name in the gaming world and then moving to a bigger more powerful console.

I actually disagree on your opinion that Nintendo would be successful in pressuring him. Frankly, for the core games they get they really should be more thankful, and I think pressuring Suda would only turn him off even further. He is more of an artist game designer, and would easily go wherever gives him the best opportunity to give him what he wants. Not to mention this would only confirm the bad reputation Nintendo has in handling their third party relations (outside of SEGA and Capcom of course, as they can never afford to be on those two companies' bad sides)

So if it changes to another platform, it would be a repeat of GTA: Chinatown Wars, right?

This. I mean, are they kidding? The Wii was what made them, I really do hope that they follow through with the plan of switching consoles, so that we can see what statistics will show.

Actually what made Suda was their unwillingness to succumb to pressure from everyone else and do things their own way to make new and interesting games.
A perfect model of how a game/movie/studio SHOULD be. Besides, Suda couldn't give a crap what Nintendo thinks. He knows they need him more than he needs them.
