I don't even know if I was born with my wisdom teeth.....

Those higher on the evolutionary scale won't get them coming in.

I'm sure that they'll knock you out if you're getting all your wisdom teeth snatched out. It's terrible afterwords though.

I'm not getting put to sleep.  I'd have to go to an oral surgeon for that, but my dentist is gonna do it.

I'm gonna be on all kinds of PILLS HERE, and I'll have a shot in my gums.

Yeah, the shot to the gums is good for making fill-ins painless, maybe a root canal, but wtf!? Having all my wisdom teeth pulled out is not something I'd want to be awake for, especially after seeing how it's done on YouTube. *shiver*

My mom and my brother were awake for theirs and they did fine.

It was at the same dentist, too.

That's good. The thought still makes me cringe though. >.<

The experience really varies depending on how impacted your teeth are. If it's a bony impaction, you're darn going to want general (put to sleep) or twilight (technically conscious, but unable to remember the surgery after it happens) anesthetic. If they're just below the surface of the gum, it's probably alright with strong local anesthetic.

After-experience isn't bad provided you can get some Vicodin prescribed; I took those for a week and didn't have any major issues with pain. The only annoying (not painful) thing is that you may have to wash out the holes in your gums with saline for a couple weeks in order to ensure that no food particulates get caught in them.

Huh, my sister is getting her wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow too.

I was gut under that stuff that makes you relaxed or whatever, I don't know, it goes over your nose. After that, they gave me 20 shots in the arm to put me to sleep (they kept missing my vein). I was like half conscious during it and had no pain, just weird ticklish feelings when they crunched my teeth. I awoke in a wheelchair, tried climbing in the car and fell on the ground and I don't remember anything else after that.

The aftermath is going to be FUN >:D

BTW I've had:
16 teeth removed at the same time (12 baby, 4 wisdom)
a major jaw reconstructive surgery
and braces twice

I don't want to hear any complaining now!
I may need jaw surgery at my rate off lower jaw growth...

I am developing an underbite :(

AND 16!  I thought 9 was bad enough...

Got back from the dentist an hour ago.  All went well.

Once I get this gauze out of my mouth I'll be fine.

I feel so woozy...

I once had four teeth cut out of my gums that hadn't started coming through yet. They put me completely under for that though, I had an i.v. and they made me breath gas so I don't remember any pain. At first I was going to try to stay awake but I quickly realized I would rather be asleep when all that was going on. My face did swell up a lot though and there was blood.

As a side note, that day Pokemon silver arrived in the mail.

Hmm, I thought I'd feel a lot worse than this.

I never took my medicine for the pain, yet I have no pain at all. o_o

Yeah, it looks like people were just exaggerating.  Wisdom teeth extractions hurt for a few hours.  It's rarely so unbearable, though people have different thresholds.  The thing with wisdom tooth extractions is that it's sometimes the moment people find out that they have blood clotting disorders.  Bad time to find that out. :]
