....and I'm thinking about getting a Zelda game for my next Wii Points Card. What should I get?

Nayrman

Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask.
Both are excellent games with only A Link to the Past being as good.

Although I go with OoT first, since MM is the sequel.

Thirteenthorder

I would say OoT. For one, as Nayrman said, MM is the sequel. Second, I found MM to be a little more of a challenge that OoT.

But this is your first time playing ZELDA? .-.
When you're not lookin'...

jnfs2014

No, but it would be the first Zelda game I bought.

Doodle

OoT and MM, like everyone said.
Also, get A Link to the Past for the SNES.
YEAH

Fish

OoT is better for a first game in my opinion. Majora's Mask was a lot harder for me to get into. On a side note I honestly didn't like MM that much.

Neerb

OoT is the perfect starting point for anyone new to Zelda, because it's the only game to perfectly summarize what Zelda is.  It's in Hyrule with Zelda and Ganon[dorf], it's not a sequel, it's not super gimmicky, it features full civilizations; it's the perfect Zelda game.

Indeed. Goodness, that moon stressed me out SO much. I was so glad when I figured out there was a method to the madness, no pun intended coughskullkidcough  D=

Like everyone else said, Ocarina of Time. For maximum fun, use no guides (unless you REALLY need them).

Shadow Temple isn't that hard.  And at least it's interesting; Water Temple both difficult and boring!  I mean:  no theme except for literal water, repetitive puzzle, have to keep using Iron Boots, can't use anything for half the temple except Hookshot, the item is just a boost to something you already have, and the boss is a freaking amoeba!  The only half-good aspect of it was Shadow Link.

Gwen Khan

get A Link to the Past, Second best Zelda Game, the best is Link's Awakening but that's not available on the Wii shop channel

Don't forget the problematic Ver1.0 version that the game released with in terms of the Water Temple! XD
But then again that version also had the "Muslim chants" in the Fire Temple

Just in case no one has any idea what I was talking about with the chants in the Fire Temple

Neerb

What was wrong with the Water Temple in Version 1.0?

From what I've been told/read (I've never played Ver1.0 myself, I believe only 800,000 copies were sold in the U.S.), the Water Temple has one fewer small key than the other versions. Meaning you can intercourse  up and use all the small keys and not go to where Dark Link is. Thus forcing you to permanently lose the game and having to restart from the beginning.
But that's just what I've been told and read in various places. I've never played it to confirm it myself.
