Just because they look like the respective characters doesn't mean that they can play them. Christopher Walken does not have the same acting style as the Gman's character.

Christopher Walken, however, is a phenomenal actor, and could easily pull it off.

Yes, but it takes an actor to pull off his speech well. Christopher Walken, although he doesn't sound much like Gman, could easily pull his creepy dialect off.
