So, what was the first game you played this year?

Yeah, I'm a day late when I made this thread. But still, I'm sure everyone remembers the first game they played this year.
That's a pretty big everyone, considering not everyone here is a gamer.

So, first game I played this year was Batman: Arkham Asylum on my Uncle's PS3, as I don't own the game myself just yet. And because my brother got tired of playing it, and decided to be a spectator instead.
We aren't here for details. You yourself asked what the first game people played this year, not WHY they decided to play it.

And to keep this from being a mostly pointless thread, what do you think the best game of 2009 was?

I was playing Rock Band 2 as it turned to New Years.

I played No More Heroes after that.

Best game of 09, Rock Band: Beatles. Because everything this year sucked.
Also Uncharted 2, but I can't really say that because I don't have a PS3.

All the fun games I played this year came out in good ol' 08.

I wouldn't say everything, then again, I'm a Mario RPG addict.

As for what I was playing, was playing brawl with some family/friends since they wanted something different from the usual. We missed changing the channel by about 1 minute, so we just said "Whatever, let's just keep playing"

I think it was Battlefield 2, or Team Fortress 2. If it wasn't any of those it was Rock Band 2.

I was playing SSBB when it turned new years.

As for GoTY, I'd say Left 4 Dead 2. It's pretty fun. But, then again, I didn't get too many games last year.

The first game I played this year was Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 on Wii, then some New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

I played The Beatles Rock Band before midnight though.
